A few weeks ago I decided it was time to have the back bedroom re-plastered and decorated. Ooops... As Kyle was stripping the wallpaper off cracks in the plaster were emerging..... as he tapped the wall the bigger the cracks became. The plasterer guy (Joe) then said those areas would need filling and bonding before any plastering could be done.
Also as the weather was so hot he would not start plastering until the temperatures reduced as the plaster would dry too quickly and not do it any good. Also when the windows were installed 27 years ago, they never filled in the edges properly so that was another issue!
What started off as a two week job is now a four week job and costing more!!
The plastering will be starting around now and hopefully finished tomorrow. The painting next week. A new carpet should have been going in next week but will now be the following week.

Plastering finally done and drying out. Tomorrow they start the painting at last and has to be finished, as the carpet is coming in on Wednesday. Twice I had to change the carpet delivery... so now the lads on borrowed time!
Oh dear! From your photos, I can see what you mean @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น . Hope it's now going well and will soon be finished. You will then look very smart! I thought Distemper was something dogs got!!
How's the job going? Hopefully it get sorted and finished soon. Then you can enjoy your new room @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น
Oh dear @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น Still, it all needed doing at some point and when it's finished it'll be good for many years to come. By distemper, do you mean the stuff they used to paint the walls with? Didn't know it would be a problem.
And the drama goes on.... Last night they found that one wall has Distemper! Now waiting for another person to come and treat that before the plastering can start. They should have been here around 8.30 this morning. Due to a very bad accident on the over pass going into Portsmouth last night, all roads leading to there are backed up with traffic in all directions.
Oh well I shall now go and do some gardening.
