I didn’t write this but it is so true of todays society
I used to think I was just a regular person, but I was born white, which now, whether I like it or not, makes me a racist. I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards, makes me a fascist. I am heterosexual, which now makes me a homophobe. I was Christened by my parents, who were married in a church, which by some peoples standards labels me an infidel. I think and I reason, therefore I doubt a lot that the mainstream media tells me, which must make me a reactionary? I am proud of my history and heritage which makes me a xenophobe. I value my safety and that of my family and I appreciate the police and the legal system, which of course makes me a right-wing extremist. I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist. I (and most of the people I know), acquired a fair education from a basic comprehensive school without student loan debts, which makes me some kind of an odd under-achiever. I believe in the defence and protection of the UK for and by all citizens and I honour those who served in our Armed Forces, which now makes me a right wing-militant. Please help me come to terms with the new me... because I'm just not sure who I am anymore! I would like to thank all my friends for sticking with me through these seemingly abrupt new found changes in my life and my thinking! I just can't imagine or understand what’s happened to me so quickly! Funny ...it’s all just taken place over the last 10-15 years! And as if all this utter shite wasn’t enough to deal with... I’m not sure which toilet to use.
That's correct @Tanith, I lived in Calabria, in a very small town, most of the time it doesn't show on maps either. I used to eat rabbit, and leftovers were eaten the next day. I still do it now, sometimes bulk cook and freeze it. I be honest and occasionally have a ready meal, but I have to be plain lazy to do so. We like certain offal, and I'm amazed you get charged here for it. I remember the butcher would just give it to in Italy, on a first comes first basis. I couldn't do this vegan business tho, I think the body get deprived of to much nutrients.
To answer the original question. I think it all went wrong when LOCAL government started to get involved. Someone would have been injured because they fell out of a tree on public land. The council would have put up 'Do not climb trees' signs. People would have said 'swimming in the lake is dangerous'. 'Do not swim here' signs would have been erected by the council. Since no-one was swimming or climbing, the lake would have been filled, trees cut down and more houses built by the council. More cars on the road made cycling really dangerous. Children would have lost those skills that they needed and hence climbing walls and swimming became more dangerous.
Yes, far too much time on their hands and everyone seems to think their opinion is sacrosanct.
Also, " banter" doesn't seem to be understood by some age groups these days!
Aren't we lucky that we have experienced these things....

@renatew5😺🐶 [@Happygirl] @harryflatters @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 @Tanith Yes, The Larkin's was a prime example of this. I also refused to watch Bridgerton, @renatew5😺🐶 I decided to watch Father Ted and downloaded it to find that almost every episode had some sort of "warning! " Unbelievable where all this is going.
What about when there were talks about "chest feeding" as "breastfeeding" was considered inappropriate, I mean something to do with gender , or " birthing parent"? Madness.
I used to love watching 'Family Guy & American Dad' but not anymore. Lately, I have been watching the re-run of 'Endeavour' (young Morse) and tonight I may look in on 'Doc Martin' and I started to watch 'Vera' but the 'Diversity Card' is obvious in most of them. What really got up my nose, was the recent re-make of the 'Darling Buds of May' which had a 'man of colour' in the role of Charlie who in truth and in the original book, has been a white male. We were not that diverse in the early fifties when the original story was written. @Happygirl
We will just have to stick to our principled beliefs and the way we have been brought up and what we believe is right and all these WOKISTS JUST HAVE TO WHISTLE INTO THE WIND. It has always been there but has grown very strong over the last 20 years or so and all the commotion with the 'ME TOO' and 'BLACK LIVES MATTER' movements which came across from the States has not helped. Having read carefully through @harryflatters post again, I state my case and say, I am all of them and proud of it. @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 @Happygirl @roz
As we were coming back into our road yesterday I said to Dennis.... We have a post lady now delivering the post.... He told me I cannot say that now as it is classed as "sexist" you have to say- a post person! @harryflatters @Happygirl @renatew5😺🐶
Makes me sick all this new conformity, even the old programme upstairs and downstairs, which I still love watching has warnings now about it before you can watch it.
the world has gone mad and to be honest we all wont be here much longer anyway as we are destroying it and us @harryflatters @renatew5😺🐶
My dear @harryflatters you just have discovered WOKEISM!!!
