Of course.
Sent out four cards; and received FIVE!
Sent some texts.
Had a lovely meal.
You really do have to remember specific dates. I was working in Paris in the late 80s. After a very busy day, I went into a restaurant with a male colleague on valentine's day (although we had actually forgotten what the date was). We got some very strange looks, but still stayed for a meal.
A year earlier, I had asked a university friend to arrange a date with his sister, who had never met me and was studying in Paris. That was a lovely evening.
That's special.
No, we did not celebrate Valentines Day, but every day is a treat with Mr nabob. Its been lovely to read all your comments. ๐
@Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ they look lovely what a thoughtful little boy you must be so proud of him. ๐
We don't do cards anymore @Happygirl , (we started courting in 1963 so I 've had a fair few over the years) hubby does usually buy me flowers and we cook a nice meal together. I have to say he does try once when he hadn't bought me a birthday card he cut up the cereal box and made me one before he went to work and flowers arrived later in the day. We still have a laugh about it as well as the time he sent me to buy my own Christmas card at the local card shop he gave me a note and a bag to give to the assistant, she couldn't stop laughing when I handed them over. ๐
Not anymore @Happygirl we just give each other a card. I say we do not need anything to show our love anymore as it is there for ever. ๐
On the bright side I bought 3 heart shaped pizzas going cheap in lidl, we'll have it tonight with a bottle of wine! ๐คฃ
Nope, hubby thinks it's just commercial. I think twice we went out for a meal on valentines. He has no romance I'm afraid! But on the other hand Dinky wanted to come to lidl with me got his little wallet and off we went. Once there he told me not to look, couldn't help not to peak, he got a bunch of flowers (I had to check he wasn't spending to much) and a chokky bar. Put it in a bag, I did my shopping. Once at the till he loaded his bits and paid. The lady at the till was lovely with him and waiting patiently for him to pay and hide the bits in the bag again. Remember I wasn't allowed to look. Once home I wS putting shopping away. Dinky called me in lounge and said "Happy Valentines mum". Bless ghis little heart. The flowers had a little Teddy too. He sure got a huge hug. He said if I wasn't there he would've spent more. I told him even if it was the cheapest bunch or 1 flower, it would still mean the world to me. Must be doing something right, best keep up this young romance. โค๏ธโค๏ธ
