The other day I was thinking about clothes we used to wear growing up. I remembered the liberty bodice with the rubber buttons. They were horrible things to wear all through the winter. And I think it had plastic 'bones' sewn into the sides to give you a shape.

Did anyone else's parents make things from newspapers when you were a child? My dad made these hats for my brother and his friends.
Hope you can alI see the photo.
@Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น careful with adoptive cats. My neighbour where I used to live had another neighbour's do this and they blamed her and fell out big-time, even though she assiduously wouldn't feed or accommodate it. They must have been offended that their puss liked someone else, and it is difficult. If Cairo scarpered, I'd be very offended! He had a terrific fight in the field behind with some rooks and magpies. Such a noise and feathers and fur flying everywhere. He's bloody lucky to have escaped with no injuries or lost eyes etc. I have had a word with him; he's just come upstairs to my office to demand food.๐
Xander. Hope these load.
Never had one of these. Regulation aertex type of vests for me.
@Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ I can't see the cat photos, any reason why?
Our neighbours cat making himself at home. He has adopted us and just walks in as and when he pleases ๐ป Xander.

Another I was pleased to not wear anymore were stocking and suspenders. Tights are more comfortable these days.
I remember them, too, but never had one. I remember vests..... still wear an M&S stretchy thing, which I suppose is a vest, after a friend introduced me to the concept of a can't remember the name.....thin straps, worn under another top, so your decolletage is concealed. Help!!
Oh yes, I remember the liberty bodice. I have a skin condition and bare legs bleed in the winter if the weather is harsh. Mum sewed suspenders on my liberty bodice and managed to source children's size woollen stockings. I hated wearing them, hated the discomfort and being different. I was between about three and five at the time and was always somewhere in the school as Mum was the school caretaker. I remember ladies talking to each other about how nice I looked and how sensible Mum was.
