I have mine on the 12th at 9 am @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น@homebaker , I phoned up yesterday in case some one was there and they were, the Mother of the owner lives above in a flat and so she booked me in, short back and sides for me this time ha haaaaaaa
My friend Audrey and I were going to Sheldon Hall for a big lunch with all the trimmings after the lockdown, alas she passed away 30th January and because of her close family and the lockdown numbers, I was not able to attend her funeral. Sad really, the last other girl of the awesome foursome is poorly too, so there is only lonesome me now. No violins but this is life. The moments to be cheerful are on the horizon with my second jab on the 11th of April and Steven's on 22nd May and hopefully John following up to be the family threesome and perhaps we will be able to have a little garden party by mid June/July. There, the eternal optimist. @harryflatters
Oh i am so sorry you lost a good friend @renatew5๐บ๐ถ , i find the older we get the more deaths come along, i get quite down over it at times as they always seem to come in batches at times.
A small garden party sounds wonderful, cake and coffee yum yum
Yes, like most of us here, what we want to do the most revolves around our family - can't wait to have Mark and our two grandsons with us again. We've got loads of Christmas presents for them - we are going to do a repeat of Christmas with turkey and everything! A trip to Cromer for a walk along the promenade and the pier followed by the biggest Cromer crab salads we can find! A walk along the dunes at Winterton or Horsey to see the seals, followed by a cream tea at the Poppylands Cafe near Horsey (if it has survived and reopens!). Just before Christmas 2019, I said to my best friend John that we'd get together in the new year for lunch, my treat at the White Horse in Stoke Ash near Eye where he lives. I said the same thing just before last Christmas too! Perhaps this year we will actually manage it!! And the biggest thing of all, of course, is that we hope to be in our new apartment in Sovereign Harbour - 18 weeks today, sold subject to contract, and still counting!! Nightmare!! Keep safe and well everyone until we can all do those wonderful things we so want to do but haven't been able to for so long now!
Oh wow @harryflatters , i like your ideas very much so indeed. It was on our news yesterday that a swimmer was taking a dip at one of the local beaches and felt something brush his feet in the water, fearing the worst he made for the shore and saw people laughing and pointing to something near him, it was a seal playing.Every time he bobbed his head under the water then the Seal did the same.
I do agree with @Tanith but I do not want to sound too pessimistic. Slowly does it. It would nice to have decent weather so I can be out in the garden and hopefully grow some decent veg, play with Patty and Tilly and have a chat with the neighbour over the fence with a mug of tea or coffee and some homemade cakes. Perhaps have some friends visiting. Open house here because I do not travel very well any more. The only thing I really wish for is for the hairdresser to open soon again, I am rather fed up with my shaggy lockdown look. I have noticed that I have a lot more grey since the first lockdown. It's all around the front and the boys call it my silver halo. Coming from John and Steven, it's like a hug.
I just had my new travel pass and I could go into Solihull centre or even to Chelmsley Wood and visit the Jeweller. The family heirloom (mum's real pearls) need cleaning and restringing with a knot between each pearl.
Just daft little things, otherwise, I am happy and content in myself.
@homebaker I went to book my jabs. First available date (and it is 10 miles away) is THREE weeks hence! Needless to say, I will wait and get it done at my surgery (or at the office and that is 30 miles away).
Hi @homebaker hope all well with you both. Like most folk we are just waiting to see our family again and take a stroll along the sea front and feel free again. It would be great to visit our daughter on the I.O.W but I think it maybe a bit too soon. Oh, and have my hair cut and coloured again.
We are both well thank you @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น Strolling along any seafront would be lovely. It's nice to have a good cut done at the hairdressers but often I've not been that impressed to be honest. I set to and began to cut my own hair. I've done it twice now and it's worked out ok - Mr. Homebaker thought it looks no different than if I'd had it done at a salon so that's quite a compliment. I've recently cut his too as it was getting a bit too long and getting in his eyes all the time.
@homebaker I think anyone is brave to cut their own hair. I do Dennis's for him now as he said I do it as well as the barbers he went to. Just run the razor over and it is done! ๐
@homebaker I am looking forward to having my niece, Nic, come and stay for a few days. Hopefully we will be able to take everything out into the garden and craft in the sun. We did it - was going to say last year, but I'm not sure if it was the year before or even longer ago. Time is going so slowly, but the years are rolling by so fast.
A nice BBQ, wine and the craft table on the lawn.
The following week Nic could come back and bring her partner, children and maybe grandchildren with her. That would be brilliant.
Yes we are missing visits to friends and visits to us by friends. This picture is of my friend Anita who comes here to spend a couple of hours at the easel. This was taken just in between lockdowns when we were still able to meet up at each other homes.
Yay, I now am booked in for a cut โ๏ธ and colour April 13th. @homebaker [@Happygirl]

I am not sure that anything will really change this year. By the time we have all had the second dose it will be autumn.

Hello again and once again so lovely to see you here @homebaker .
I miss the fresh air upon my face and in my lungs.
Sitting on the Mariner watching all the cruise ships come and go, and the beautiful sea a lashing against the rock walls.
Popping into the local shops just to say 'Hello'.
FREEDOM.
and MOST IMPORTANTLY miss my son so much, we have tons of Christmas Presents still here for them and I have cried many a time wanting to hug him.
