We were without Internet for a few days as Virgin had (in their words) outages. It affected all our area and some even had loss of electricity ๐ Then our printer packed up and Dennis had trouble connecting a new one to the Internet... still not connected so have Virgin engineer coming tomorrow. So stressful. Then I have had problems with sorting information for our holiday....but that is another story. ๐

Thank you @harryflatters hubby's behalf. Sorry I'm late with it, actually very late with the SSS hybrid details. I'll pin hubby down and get writing ๐
Yes, I can imagine it would be so very useful if you have a little one at school etc. Hard to believe our youngest has just had his 48th Birthday!! Mark is 52!! How on earth this came to pass I know not! Just changed cars - 2016 SLK 300 '9 G-TRONIC' AMG Sports, 23k miles and totally immaculate! Petrol Head forever! Not so much another mid life crisis - more an end of life crisis! I don't want to go quietly but more in a shriek of smoking rubber, dust and gravel flying and shouting 'Christ, what a ride'!! ๐คฃ
I have a feeling that many of the manufacturers offer something like that @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ - we do so little printing that we don't use that sort of thing. Trouble is, that's why the print jets tend to clog up as the ink dries out!! Hoping that won't happen too much with our new one - so far so good!!
I have an HP printer, and you get a great deal! They'll replace your ink for free. You pay only for printing. My deal is 15 pages a month at no cost at all. But it has changed to 99p a month. I'm guessing it's for new customers, as mine is still free. Then if you choose 50 pages a month then it's about ยฃ5.00 I think, then so on, you pay for the subscription of pages you print. We are on BT halo, they ave us a little portable Wi-Fi when ours was down.
If our internet stops working for some reason, we ring them up and they activate it so "touch wood" we won't be without again.
We've had it a couple of years now, probably be obsolete next time our internet goes off.

We are with BT also and they have been pretty good overall I must say. Our landline has just been switched to 'digital' so now via the internet - seems to work OK. Hope they manage to sort out your printer @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น - we've only recently bought another one - an Epson this time, previously had Canon - and I am pleased to say I managed to get it up and running easily this time - that has not always been the case!! Not expensive (around ยฃ60) but it has separate inks and double sided printing so does all we are likely to need,
We're with BT too [@Happygirl], no problems my end with them. But they're very good, in sorting out problems. They've been very helpful in the past when something went wrong in the past.
Not good @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น at least internet is back, Virgin engineer sorts printer, and hope everything gets sorted re holiday.
@Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น we are with BT and didn't have internet for 6 days but they were really good as we are down as vulnerable and they really pushed out all the stops for us and also credited our next bill with ยฃ40.00 as a good will gesture and then ยฃ8.50 pence for each working day we were without it, you can't really grumble about that as I thought it was really good of them, have your internet provider done anything like that for you ? We also had some intermittent power cuts too, they were not for long and we were soon connected again.
I would recommend to anyone that has their internet not working to always ask about a refund, although we never did they just telephoned us up on the mobile and said that they would do it, I thought that was really kind of them

Hope you get the printer sorted, we use the local library as they do not seem to last these days the printers. I think that now the Summer is here then we all shall maybe busy enjoying ourselves outside as it is the first real year we can all get some beautiful fresh air with restrictions gone away, although we still wear our masks outside on the bus's etc
