On Thursday we decided to get our phones updated. So along we went to the EE store in Waterlooville for an appointment at 9.20. After chatting with Billy, Dennis decided to keep the same phone and just have a new contract for a sim only one.( his monthly payment went down from £18 to £12, which was a bonus) I went for a new phone - LG make this time as it was the only one closest to the monthly payments we have had and mine reduced by £1. While everything was being transferred from my old phone (including over a thousand photo's) we went to get a few front door keys cut for our daughter and neighbour.
As it was a sunny day (but still cool) we found a cafe to sit outside for a coffee and chocolate orange cake.... so yummmy. And the first time of eating out for a year!
After collecting my phone, by the time we returned home it was lunch time. After lunch I then spent a few hours inputting all reminders, birthdays and other info, in the calendar as that wasn't transferred. Having to sign in again to all apps to update for a new phone. Thank goodness that is all sorted now.
Yesterday- Friday, we travelled to Southampton to the Research Centre for Dennis to be studied for the early Alzheimer's. We both filled in questionnaires, they wanted Dennis's view on certain things of how he felt on a subject and mine on how I thought he felt. He was also alone in another room with the researcher going through some tests. We go back in a months time for more tests.
Today in stead of having a Sainsburys delivery, we actually went to the store to shop for the first time in 9 months. It felt really strange and as items had been moved to different places around the store, I was getting annoyed and felt it was so much easier doing on line shopping 🤔.
Going back to the key cutting.... when trying them in the door at home, the front door one did not work!!! Luckily, there is a Timpson's next to the entrance of Sainsburys, so I took them in and they guy sorted them for me, so all good now.
And that was my last few days!! 😂 @Flossy 🧁🧁🧁 @Bill Obermeyer @Happygirl @harryflatters @margaret.s @nabob @Pinkaholic79 💖🦄🌺 @renatew5😺🐶 @andym.aat @roz @Tanith and anyone else interested.
@harryflatters @Pinkaholic79 💖🦄🌺 @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 @roz @margaret.s @Happygirl My present smart phone is a Moto G Android 7, old now really.
But it was bought to replace my Moto Star Trek type flip phone, For a while I had the communicator sound on it .That lasted ages, I bought it in 2000.
I think I have had the Moto G for about 5 years, Mr nabob bought his phone a year later and got the next model up so we both know how to work each others phone!!!! 🤔
I will be keeping everything crossed for you both @harryflatters that it goes well for you. 😊
@harryflatters Personally I not get an IPhone, but a Samsung or a Honor (part of the Huawei family but cheaper) I have the Honor 20 and very pleased with it. Hubby has the Honor 20 lite, less features than mine.
Sounds like you have both had an interesting day or two @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 I've been thinking about getting one of these 'smart' phones if that's what they are called? Like an iPhone but a much cheaper alternative! I'm sort of pushed this way because of our house move - with a couple of banks and others making it very difficult to change address! They want you to use an 'app'! Only alternatives are to print out a form (no working printer!), to phone (can't get through!!) or go to branch (none anywhere near!!). Will wait now until we get to Jonathans - removal men tomorrow and Tuesday when our 'stuff' goes to store and we drive down to Lewes!
You've been busy @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹, and the weather was lovely too, how nice you got a new phone, and hope it went well with Dennis. Coffee and cake treat too. We'll done you both.
@Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 glad to hear that you have had a few "different" days. Sounds like you both coped well. Well done with the shopping trip. I bet you are pleased that you mastered the perils of new phone technology too!
@Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 busy day for you both.
@Happygirl @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 yes I got notification about that post but when I looked I couldn't find it. 😊
What a busy bee you've been @Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 glad you managed with your new phone. I got new one for Christmas from youngest daughter and her hubby. It's a Samsung S21 and I find it easy to use although I suspect I Don't use a quarter of it's functions. 😊
@Janet 💋🍰🍝🍹 you just wrote on the weather one i did this......After coming back from Sainsburys this morning, putting shopping away, tidying up, having a coffee and biscuits.... I took advantage of the sun and topped up the plant pots with new soil for the mini fruit and Magnolia trees. @Happygirl
But it has vanished now , the groups are playing up yet again as it says 9 comments but only shows 8,
