Just trying to get your attention. LOL ha ha ha!
Sorry I've not been doing anything lately - not been feeling too well and yes I am getting better - just tired and usual aches and pains. Things don't seem to change much - I had 'face to face' appointment at hospital earlier this week. As usual it all went wrong - phone call at 8.15 am to tell me appointment was cancelled as the hospital was closed due to major water leak - ambulances were being sent away etc. Had another call at 9 am - someone-else telling me that the hospital was closed. Not too worry I'm at the top of the list for the next available appointment.
Sorry - another one - I got diverted away from what I was going to say. I haven't had a laptop for a short while as it decided that tea and dropping on hard floor wasn't to it's liking. On top of that I must have been got at by a virus as the laptop is completely finished. Windows and startup boot decided to be corrupt and denied me access to anything and deleted everything off the drive - or so it keeps telling me.
I can get into the drive via dos and I can see that my data is there - I've just got to find a way to get it into my new (old computer bought off ebay for ยฃ60 inc P&P) laptop. Have put the drive into a caddy and plugged it in today - just wish I had the energy or interest in fixing it. Will have to do it as nowadays everything is online - banking, food deliveries, emails, etc. - even paying the cleaner - yes I gave in and admitted I needed one - paying the window cleaner - just everything.
I can see that you have all been chatting away on your own. Apart from Covid there seems very little happening at the moment.
Hope you are all well and covid free. Keep warm and safe and I'll try and pop in next week.
Flossy
Oh @renatew5๐บ๐ถ, so Steven did share it with you. Hope you didn't feel to bad, glad you're feeling better. Lidl is quite bad for stock at the moment, but other shops are suffering too.
Ofc I have noticed you're not on here much @Flossy ๐ง๐ง and understand why. Hope you're feeling much better now. Not much has been happening on my side, so don't have much to say at the moment.
Yes, I have done the same as @harryflatters. Nothing on my notification page. Hope you are on the mend and that your appointments get sorted @Flossy ๐ง๐ง . As for little me, had the booster but not the T-shirt but a visit of the 'moronic' Omicron courtesy of son Steven who got it from one of his friends who forgot to tell Steven that he had tested pos. So, Steven passed it to me and at the same time, Patty nose-dived into liver and kidney failure and had to be put to sleep last Wednesday. (My soul mate and I do miss her so.) Steven is still waiting for the 'all clear'. John and I are over it and in all this, the only one who was not infected was my friend and gardener Derek. I was more worried for him than for my sons and myself.
I even had enough go in me to defrost the big freezer this morning and ventured out to do some shopping at Lidl. I had not been shopping for two weeks. What a lot of empty shelves! Still, I managed to get what I needed. Appointment in the morning for my diabetic eye test plus standard test, I need some new reading glasses and Thursday morning I am at the diabetic clinic for the half-yearly check-up and Thursday afternoon I get my nails done, they look a proper mess.
Otherwise, I hope that things will look up a little. @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น @Happygirl

At present, I stick with W10. @Tanith
Blimey @Tanith that would be 'overkill' for me for sure!! And yes, we have missed you @Flossy ๐ง๐ง although I've only just found this by clicking on 'justwannachatforum' - nothing came up in my 'notifications'. Hope you get appointment etc sorted out and will be feeling better soon.
@Tanith i keep getting reminders to install Windows 11 on my laptop, would you recommend it as I have know idea or technical knowledge either way.
It seems that we have all noticed that you were not here.
I use a docking station (dodocool dc10) to connect hard drives to other computers. I would strongly recommend that you have TWO drives inside the computer, assuming that 2 will fit. ONE would be for the operating system and applications. The other for data. In that way the data drive can be removed and plugged into any computer. Often it is the windows boot sector that get corrupted and that prevents access to the rest of the drive. Having data on a separate drive means that it is less likely to get corrupted.
I also suggest having AT LEAST one backup copy of the data on the data drive (Actually two backups are advised, one of which would be off-site). Perhaps one on a usb stick (I rotate four sticks, so if there is a problem I can go further back in time). I would not use a cloud service as they have access to your data.
Lots more news; dogs, tennis, tsunami, Boris and Putin.
Glad your feeling better and yes I have been tagging you @Flossy ๐ง๐ง as usual, and also was waiting for a reply from my last email to you but now I know why I didn't hear back as your lap top is up the spout so take good care
Yes we have missed you @Flossy ๐ง๐ง and I was thinking of you just yesterday.
Hope you get a new appointment soon and all is well with your new laptop. Take care. x
@Flossy ๐ง๐ง up to now a covid free time from me.
I knew you weren't well so didn't want to bother you but I've been thinking of you and so have all the others I'm sure.
It's a shame your laptop wasn't well either, hope your new one is trouble free.
I've been waiting for the date up top to change, then I'd know you were well enough to mention you.
I hope you get your appointment soon and that all goes well.
