Supermarkets issue food recalls due to health and safety fears. Due to it being faulty, a product is recalled because it could create damage to certain individuals. Yesterday, both Aldi and Tesco issued one food recall each.
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced yesterday that Aldi is recalling its Harvest Morn Crisp Rice cereal due to the presence of plastic.
It has been found that the product contains pieces of plastic, making it unsafe to eat.
The FSA has confirmed that Aldi has asked customers to bring the cereal back to stores if they have already bought it.
The discount retailer is also displaying point of sale notices in all retail stores that are selling the product.
These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought it.
In its notice to customers, Aldi said: "Customers are advised not to eat this product.
"Customers are asked to return this product to the nearest store, where a full refund will be given."
Aldi added: "We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation."
The FSA has also advised customers on what to do if they have bought the Harvest Morn Crisp Rice cereal.
It said: "If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund."
The product is 375 grams in size and its best before date is November 2021.
The batch codes affected are 10470953, 10480953, and 10490953.
Tesco also issued a food recall yesterday, announcing that its own brand Tzatziki is unsafe to eat.
This is because it contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.
Due to a packaging error, some of the packs contain Sour Cream and Chive Dip.
This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.
The Tzatziki's pack size is 200 grams and its best before date is April 12, 2021.
Tesco advised customers to bring the product back to stores if they have an allergy to egg.
The supermarket said: "Please do not consume this product if you have an allergy to egg, return the affected product to store where a full refund will be given.
"No receipt is required."

Funny that @renatew5😺🐶 I made it too for tonights dinner.
I don't think there are any who like chocolate-coated plastic clusters. @Flossy 🧁🧁🧁 @Flotson @Happygirl @Pinkaholic79 💖🦄🌺
Been shopping at Lidl today and bought some good Greek yoghurt today and make some Tzaziki for our meal tonight, we find it goes well with our fish & chips. Also plashed out on a Spring Bunch of Flowers £4 but it is worth it. It has 4 blue hyacinths and 6 red and yellow-tipped tulips. Once the hyacinths start to open, they will leave a lovely scent in the room. My little bit of luxury.
Thanks for telling me about the Aldi Crisp Rice recall. @Flotson would have been even better if you told me before I ate a bowl full. The fact that you checked the serial number does not excuse you!
This particularly concerning as their Rice Krispies taste like plastic already.
Thanks @Happygirl not something we'd buy but I'll warn my nieces and nephew as they shop at Aldi and have children. 😊
Luckly I make my own tzaziki [@Happygirl] and Dinky doesn't like cereals. I don't know anyone who'd buy these products to warn them. Thank you for the info
Please also remind your families who may have young children who like that cereal.
