We are off with Jonathan to Wiltshire tomorrow. Staying, until Friday, in a 'posh' caravan on a site near Westbury. One of Hilary's old school friends, who lived in the same village (Middle Woodford), now lives there. We hope to get together. Weather permitting, we hope to visit Longleat again, as it's been a few years since we have been there. Jonathan has never been to Cheddar Gorge or the caves so aim to do that also. There's a lovely cafe in the village that does a superb cream tea! A visit to the cheese shop is a 'must' too!! Various pretty villages to visit, especially Bourton-on-the-Water, which has an interesting little Motor Museum and a 'Model Village'. Last time we were there (years ago), Hilary bought a perfume from the local Parfumerie - she might want to buy some more this time. Caen Hill Locks and Avebury Stone Circle are also possibillities although we won't bother with Stonehenge. We remember it when the stones stood on their own in the field. There was no ticket office or anything like that. You could walk up to them and round them and picnic there, as Hilary and I often did. Now you are not allowed any where near them! When we last went, it cost a fortune to get into a so called 'Visitor Centre' which, back then, was a dark, smelly and dismal place! It may have changed since, I guess, but we won't bother to find out - prefer to remember it as it once was 'back in the day'! Weather forecast not too good but we'll make the best of it!! Keeping fingers crossed!!

Lovely photos @harryflatters , weather waa good, and I guess the price is ok for all what you did. Thanks for sharing.
Not so lucky with the Tigers or the Wolves this time at Longleat. Better with the Lions, though and we had a lovely day there. Almost ยฃ40 each to go in sounds a lot. However, when you consider that includes a train ride, a boat ride and everything else and you can go round the Safari Park as many times as you like (we went round twice) we actually thought it was pretty good value!
Lucky with the weather! Negative on the Perfume - saved me a ton of money!! Mind you, spent quite a lot in the Cheddar Cheese Shop!! Photos of Bourton, some of Cheddar and Caen Hill Locks.
Hope you're having a lovely time. I remember visiting all those places so many years ago. Except never managed to visit Cheddar Gorge.
Have a fab time @harryflatters, can't wait to see some photos.
Oh how lovely @harryflatters the last time we went to Cheddar Gorge was when Lee was still in school and we were living in Wales. Used to love it all around there. Have a wonderful time, and we look forward to seeing photos. x
