For the last few days we have had a problem with Virgin. Yesterday we lost Internet on our laptop and today it was the turn of losing TV channels. Apparently it is a national problem with other regions having the same problem. We rang Virgin this afternoon for an update but the line was continually engaged.
At times we have had just one available channel and another 3 channels or nothing at all. At least we were able to still watch recordings. I bet we don't get a discount for loss of Internet and TV problems. Al our surrounding areas have been complaining today.

Hahaha @harryflatters, I rather not have a smart TV, hubby & son use it for YouTube mainly. Even tho I'm with BT didn't know they're going digital, just shows how much I "don't" really read the emails I get from them lol.
Look for the best deal, using MoneySavingExpert. Then tell Virgin that you are thinking of leaving AND had this problem. Loooking for a discount to better the best deal (or 50% off your contract) and settle for 30% off.
I don't even know what a 'smart' TV is I'm afraid and my days of having a problem with virgins are long gone!! @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ @Happygirl we've got a Freeview box but that's all and use BT for landline and internet. Our landline is shortly to go 'digital' which means your telephone won't work if the power is out! Got mobile phones though, albeit with rather a patchy signal, so should be OK if we had to call an emergency service.
We just have either free view on the lounge television but we can also put the free sat box on too if we want and in the bedroom we have a small 24 inch smart TV, I think smart TV is the way to go as you can watch youtube and also catch up with shows that you have missed on the catch up and it also has a BBC i player on it too, that smart TV is the best thing we got @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ , we are with BT but not for the television as we don't need it what with the free sat dish and the smart television, I hope they fix it for you soon

I'd say keep complaining @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น or say you'll go else where, normally they will give a refund. Hopefully it's sorted soon.
