Lovely sunny morning here with a light breeze. Having coffee on our balcony as I type this! Only moved in properly two weeks ago and we think we are beginning to get somewhere!! Removal company fetching all their boxes etc. this Thursday, which will make it all look a lot better. Got a metal storage cupboard coming in a few weeks to go on the back wall of our undercroft parking space so that will be a big help in putting 'stuff' away as well. Sort of starting to feel like 'home'!

Should to a video tour of your flat @harryflatters would love to see your flat, how lovely to have the pictures. Maybe like @Flossy ๐ง๐ง๐ง says, it could be your blog, hehe ๐
Amazing @harryflatters, glad you and Swambo have a lovely view, well done both of you.
Wow @harryflatters beautiful views, we nearly walked pass that "concrete thing" sorry don't know what it is. We asked that man how much it costs to live in one of the apartments, when he told us the price of one of them, not even selling our 3 bed house would probably be enough! We park in the Yacht Club Harbour car park for free, and a few shops near by too @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น
Who knows, maybe one day we could meet up in Eastbourne @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น @harryflatters, it's about 45min/1h for us to drive there, we had fish and chips there, but ended up with funny guts, nothing bad tho, but want to try the Italian restaurant and find a nice cafรฉ, we seem to always run out of time once there.
Brother in law is getting married on 4th September, funny enough monkfish is on the menรน @renatew5๐บ๐ถ and @harryflatters, so will be trying it for sure now ๐
@harryflatters Just been looking through all your photos. Everything looks wonderful I am sure you will both settle in very quickly and enjoy your time at the seaside.
Have you met any of your neighbours yet? We finally have new people moving in next door to us. The house sale fell through several times due to one thing or another - Covid being the main culprit. They planned to sell up and move to Spain and at the last moment their buyer backed out of the sale. They had already sold most of their furniture and had either sold or given away a lot of possessions. They had to cancel their Spanish plans and moved into rented accommodation for 12 months while trying to find a buyer. At the end of the rental they moved back in just before last Christmas. They finally made a sale that went through and have moved somewhere up north instead of Spain.
I have only briefly spoken to the lady - a really nice person - she is married to a Doctor who is working at the nearest hospital - 20 odd miles away. They have two children a boy of about 8 and a girl of about 12.
I am sure they will fit in very nicely and be good neighbours.
Wow it all looks lovely @harryflatters โค
And this is our kitchen - small but beautifully formed! A bit like swmbo who is working wonders in there as we speak!! Chili salmon fillets with new potatoes and lots of roasted vegetables, accompanied with a rather fine white of course!!
I'm only putting this on because I fell in love with the pictures when we first viewed! He wasn't going to leave them but when we walked in first day, they were still there in what is laughingly called the 'family' bathroom! This and the 'en suite' are the only two rooms from which you can't see the sea, both being 'internal' - not ideal but one always has to compromise somewhere! The rest of the flat makes up for it, for us anyway and that's all that matters.
This is 'Ellie' (reg begins LL1) first day in her new home!
The ones not collapsed are totally full of paper and quite heavy!! Never thought we would be able to get all the stuff that was in them put away!- still one or two to go but getting there! Storage box on the side balcony was a great move on our part and the cabinet arriving early Sept for our undercroft parking space will also help enormously! Already feeling sort of at home! We think we were meant to be where we are now! Interesting to think that our very first place of our very own was a two bed flat in Devizes Road, Salisbury and here we are once more in a two bed flat - albeit with rather better views! Won't be moving again - mind you, I said that when we moved from Sussex to Norfolk! Pretty sure I mean it this time!
What a beautiful place. With such beautiful surroundings you would not really want to travel far flung. The way the seasons come and go, there is always something new to see and discover. @harryflatters
Lovely views even with a low tide @harryflatters
Low tide!
Ours is the flat (2nd floor) with the storage container on our side balcony. Front balcony overlooks the outer harbour, which is tidal unlike the marina itself. The two big locks giving access at all points of the tide are towards the distant far right corner. This is what 'rush hour' looks like here in Sovereign Harbour - the Eastbourne RNLI offshore lifeboat central here. They also have a big 'RIB' inshore boat which is kept even busier!!
I can well understand how Dennis feels. And parking is pretty difficult, as it is with most coastal resorts, at this time of year and not to say 'expensive'!! Eastbourne is a hugely popular destination for nearly all the operators of coach holidays and there are some exceptional hotels in town, not least 'The Grand' (not the one the IRA blew up - that's in Brighton!). Mind you, I doubt that hotel is on many coach operators lists being, shall we say, a tad expensive! Here's a few photos from and around our flat taken on our walk this morning.
So pleased you and swmbo are finally in your new home @harryflatters you have waited a long time for it. Eastbourne is somewhere I have wanted to visit but never got there although not too far from us. ๐
Well done @harryflatters hope you enjoy your new home, and enjoy the views, we went Eastbourne yesterday for a few hours, needed a break, and missed the boat trip. Will plan to go again, spoke to a lovely man about the monkfish. He lives in a 4 bed house for 14 years.
I am not being facetious @Happygirl but at our time in life, sometimes we get senior moments and it pays to write things down before we forget and 'Murphy's Law' states that we mostly remember things we rather forget and the good things disappear in the midst of time.
@harryflatters It would be wonderful to read about your moving out and into your new place. Don't let the coffee get cold whilst writing. I frequently do this, right now I have a mug of Earl Grey getting cold.
Oooh how lovely for you both @harryflatters , so pleased you are settling on well, bet you are tired though, moving is so draining.
A balcony sounds fantastic though, may i join you for a coffee ha ha ha
That's brilliant @harryflatters . Give it another week or two and you will feel that you have always lived there. Sea view and coffee - makes me so jealous.
How about a few blog pages? With pictures of course. You are all set up as a writer of blogs.
