Just looked in to say hello to you all. Hot weather and life seems to just get in the way of everything at the moment. Bin men collecting at 6 in the mornings, brown grass all around - it's the only time my garden looks like everyone-else's. Using bath water on the plants so they are actually looking reasonable. We've not had rain since - well actually I can't remember the last time it did rain. Overcast today and yesterday but still quite warm.
My new rattan seating has been regularly used and I love it. It's even comfortable to sit on without the cushions. Discovered an easy way to clear the weeds that have grown in the bark covering an area by the log cabin - I accidentally mowed over the edge and found that the mower pulled out the weeds and left the bark alone - brilliant! I had been trying to pull the weeds out by hand but had to give up.
Another thing I had to give up was using the small hand hedge cutter - managed to slice into my thumb. Luckily I was wearing gloves and that stopped it from being a re-enactment of Johnny Depp's finger incident. Bit of blood - nothing major and it has now nearly healed up. Had nothing handy to put on it - so used the Vic out of the cupboard! Worked a treat! I vaguely remember reading something about using it for cuts, etc. Might have been Vaseline but didn't have any. That's another power tool I am banned from using.
Talking about Johnny Depp - Rob and I have watched the entire Depp/Heard Trial on TV. All six weeks of it - everything that happened in Court. We didn't sit glued to the screen for hours and hours - we had it on in the background while we were doing other things. Depp is definitely the damaged one in that relationship - hope that he can put it all behind him and get on with his life. Had forgotten that he had a band - The Hollywood Vampires.
I've just ordered 7 blinds for my dining room window. I slipped and pulled down the curtains and the rail a few weeks ago and we have had nothing up to the window since. Terrible during the hot days as we get full sun on there most of the day. Spent a long time looking at pleated blinds that fit onto the window panes - but it was just working out at really silly money. I can't justify paying over ยฃ3k for blinds. I have settled for Cherry Red venetian blinds! Sometime soon I must mention it to Rob!
Hope everyone is managing OK. Love to you all. Flossy

Oh dear @Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ you do have a interesting life one way or another. ๐ Good to know you weren't too badly injured. I bet your blinds will look great once you get them fitted.
Loved reading your post @Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ but you do seem to get in the wars!! Think you had better stock up on first aid kit!! Hope your blinds are successful. Hope you have a great caravan holiday @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ whereabouts is Coopers Beach?
Oh dear Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ, it's lovely to hear from you, but when we do, you've been up to something, either a cut, a slip, or a new idea. The supposedly two hot days we had, some sort if panic I don't get as ppl fly abroad for it. We had a 2 min shower about 10:15 as I got caught it in, but was lovely. Then, Tuesday evening it rained hard, only for a few minutes. Dinky finished school Thursday, karate lessons will continue, and I'm grateful, it's something else to do during school break. We'll be doing bits and bobs, not planning to far ahead, tho we're going on a caran holiday on 8th August for a week. Somewhere called Coopers Beach. Would love to see your new blinds, and your rattan furniture.
