I am just watching "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" on channel 5. This is my favourite ever film. Both of us are having a right laugh, I had forgotten how funny it is - it was made in 1954... gosh I was only 8 years old then. @Flossy ๐ง๐ง๐ง @Happygirl @harryflatters @margaret.s @nabob @Bill Obermeyer @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ @renatew5๐บ๐ถ @roz @tommiesgirl111 @Tanith @Shay M and anyone else interested.

When I feel a little depressed I watch "The Best Marigold Hotel". (I have the DVD set) It is the story of a lot of pensioners going to India living out their days and getting away from patronising families. An odd choice perhaps but it brings back happy memories from our holidays in Goa, India.
It's the young hotel proprietor who wants to be all good things to all men and of course the lovely Maggy Smith with her special line, "I am that old, I won't even buy green bananas anymore." Her reason was the long waiting times for a hip replacement in England, no waiting in India if you can pay for it. It is a true and somehow uplifting film with lots of funny bits and also sad bits.
