Our local Chemist is having a total revamp. Went there this morning and the shop has been gutted apart from the Pharmacy area where they make up the medicines. All patients are now being given a form to fill in with our personal details and phone number. This is because there will be a automated prescription collection service. A machine will be on the outside wall and we will be given a personal code to punch into the machine to retrieve our medications 24 hours a day to suit a time for us.

I have just collected my prescription meds from local pharmacy - no problems.
I just go on line to my doctors service and tick whatever I want to reorder and make a comment if I need more or less or any other comments. They organize everything and I then collect my drugs from pharmacy 7 days later - used to be 3 days but is now longer 'cos of COVID.
Easiest way to do it I think.
I am waiting for a text message to tell me when my prescription is ready in a few days..... so will see what happens then.
An ATM for prescriptions - fails in so many areas some of which have been mentioned.
My medication just on it's own would take up most of the available space and Rob's insulin needs to be kept in fridge. What would they do with my 'controlled' drugs that need to be signed for at point of collection?
Just use the machine for ........ well actually just don't make any.
Hmm not to convinced about it, it's like the amazon click collect, that has been damaged a few times. How will it keep the medication cold (if needed) will it sort blister packs? Personally, I'm not convinced. We seem to get more interaction with "robots" rather than humans ๐
I thought that a pharmacist HAD to discuss your prescription and tell you all the issues with taking that medication. Some people have lots of different items in a package. I wonder how it will actually work. Fine for a small box or pill bottle, but what about larger items, multiple items and storage issue at home.
Nice idea, BUT ......
I do not like that @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น , i can see them getting broke into just like the ATM's, i like mine delivered to the home but thank you maybe it will cotton on for some people
