My first time on a plane was in 1984. It was also my first time abroad, we went to Majorca. My Mum came with us as it was her first time too. A friend of Mum's had their own holiday flat and gave us a good deal for a week. We had a great time and that was the start of our future holidays abroad. @Flossy ๐ง๐ง๐๐๐ท [@Happygirl] @harryflatters @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ @nabob @renatew5 @roz @margaret.s @andym.aat @duchess

I class myself a bit of a retired but well-seasoned traveller. The first time was a long train journey from Hannover in the north of Germany to Stuttgart in the south. I travelled alone with a note around my neck with the necessary information with the train steward keeping an eye out for me, I was nine years old and travelled to spend the long summer holidays with my grandparents. This happened between 1956 and the last time was in 1961 without the note around my neck. They were lovely summers and very memorable. The first flight was, of course, an Air Force Family plane a four propeller job. I mainly flew with British Airways but also with Britannia, Caledonian, KLM, Lufthansa, Air Malta, Iberian and with Holiday companies which had their own planes like Horizon. I probably have been to most places our Janet has been too, only she had taken the slow and enjoyable route. I have never been to France, Italy or Austria or Portugal but Greece, Corfu Island, Majorca, Menorca, Malta, Tenerife, Tunesia but not to Egypt and three times long haul but non-stop to India to the Hippie state of Goa and the other long flight on a DC10 to Aden (Yemen). How I miss those times but I have my memories and lots of now fading photos. @Happygirl @roz @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น
