Well yesterday I went for a chest x ray.... this morning I had my hair colours done then came home to put the washing machine on. All went well until a few minutes before the last spin finished.... I could smell something burning around the machine. As soon as the spin finished and opened the door I was met with loads of smoke coming out of the tub and the plug was hot. Got all the washing out ( which smelt of burning) switched off the plug and removed from the socket.
As Dennis couldn't pull the machine out ( it is a very tight space between two cupboards) I asked a neighbour to do it. He couldn't find anything that had caused it. In the mean time Dennis rang Hotpoint and they are sending someone out on Thursday to check it all out. We only bought the machine in September and pleased we have it extra insured.
Next, a very nice surprise... our Grandson rang asking if he could visit us tomorrow, so that was lovely.
Then on Thursday the rest of the family arrive for Christmas around lunch time. Tomorrow I also will be catching up on some extra baking ready for when they all arrive. Then I will need a rest and relax.
Merry Christmas everyone. ๐๐ฒ
Not even a week ....
Just make sure that your family do not try to fix the machine and the engineer is asked to stay for Christmas. Have a lovely time.
Definitely an hectic day, with the extra surprise just in time to cheer you up, how lovely for your grandsons to call and plan a visit, only thing the baking begins. Hopefully they can get to the bottom of the burning smell, maybe it's a dodgy one? Either way it will get sorted.
We were told the engineer will ring tomorrow to give us an estimated expected arrival time .... at the moment it can be anytime between 8.00 to 18.00 @harryflatters ๐
Oh goodness! Way too much excitement!! Let's hope they can sort your almost new machine out. Assuming someone does turn up on Thursday, that's pretty good service I must say. Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow with your Grandson and especially that your X-ray is good.
