I hope that all who were entitled to vote actually voted. That gives you the authority to complain about government, opposition and policies. Anyone who decided NOT to vote should not be allowed to complain.
@harryflatters - yes, I know that quotation. He's right and I don't have an alternative, but then I'm not a politician. However, having been a parish councillor and gov. of a hospital, nobody ever asked which party we were from and the system worked perfectly well. People don't need to toe the party line to get the trains running on time, metaphorically!
I was in two minds, should I, should I not but it was a glorious sunny afternoon so I took a long slow walk down to Lea Village to cast my vote. Little Andy Street got my vote for another run for West Midlands Mayor. As for the police commissioner, I did not bother. This is a staunchly "Labour" area with candidates I have never seen or heard of.
The way things are shaping up, who knows what the future brings and somehow I cannot see our PM being barred and thrown out of a pub by the owner and landlord of his establishment as happened to Sir Keir Starmer whilst out on a walkabout. How very embarrassing for Starmer and he did not have much luck with his wallpaper smear stunt either. Time to get lost, Sir!
I've never voted and I never complain! I make intelligent, informed arguments and discussions, though. In a tiny nutshell, I don't believe our version of democracy works. We should only let people who know what they're talking about have the vote. @Tanith
OOOOO controversial! That might be a relatively small group then!! In any case, who gets to decide? And who gets to decide who decides?!! As the great man said:-
โMany forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.โฆโ Winston S Churchill, 11 November 1947
Trains cancelled due to cracks.
