'The Beast'

As I said in my post in the 'Recipes' group, we recently bought a gas barbecue, which sits on our front balcony, under it's cover when not in use. Here it is just after I had assembled it. It didn't look quite so big in the pictures!! The two shelves at the side fold down which makes it a bit more compact when put away. We've now moved it (it's on wheels) to the other end of the balcony.

We used it for the first time the other day. It was much better than I expected it to be and got really hot quite quickly. Cooked sausages, tikka chicken pieces and some maple pork belly on the griddle. Had to turn the gas right down to avoid burning and to make sure it was all cooked through. Jonathan and swmbo both declared the food was good! Might try using it like an oven next and cook a whole chicken using the 'beer can' method!! That might be a bit ambitious however!! I will let you know!!
