Sushi (love it) is rice wrapped in seaweed (nori). It may or may not have fish in it.
Sashimi (love it even more) is raw, sliced fish, served with a dipping sauce.
Smoked salmon is raw! We used to place thinly sliced salmon in a plastic bag with molasses and lime juice for 48 hours before eating. It was wonderful.
Naughty @Tanith, it is to early to drool over sushi and I do love the wasabi paste. It is available in tubes in Lidl when they have the 'Asian' theme week.
@harryflatters@renatew5đșđ¶ I love sushi! Don't care where it comes from. Don't like the wasabi paste though - not a hot taste person. Bought a great wine in Lidl yesterday - Malbec 2018 from France somewhere and today it's all gone! Only ÂŁ4,59 I think. Off to Scotland (not to stay with friends, for a change, actually spending Chris's money in hotels!) in a week or so and I see Aberdeen has about 5 Lidl! What could be lovlier? Never been there before, although have driven past to go shooting (sorry) near Thurso, where I was going to live just before Chris kidnapped me to live in Dorset.
Good Morning @duchess@harryflatters and @Happygirl . I was only joking with my comment and to be honest, I love sushi too, especially the hot wasabi paste with some packs. Saturday is the best day to pick up some nice sushi in Lidl. It is on my shopping list for today and I hope that certain dairy products are back on the shelf. There was no filtered milk available last week and the bakery shelves were empty, except for a couple of lonely loaves of the type we don't eat.
Mentioning shooting in Scotland, do you bring back your bounty, @duchess? Roast peasant (I mean pheasant) with red wine sauce, yum yum, springs to mind. Only the gutting and plucking are a bit unpleasant and I have done both in the past and the end result is worth it.
Love Sushi @duchess@renatew5đșđ¶ - whisper it, Aldi do some lovely packs of it, usually just on left as you go in - at least it was at their Lewes store which we ventured into while staying with Jonathan in his flat in that town. Newhaven Lidl was not good unfortunately. Pleased to say that refurbished Eastbourne Lidl that opened 12th Aug is super - so far anyway! I am hoping that 'management' are good enough to keep it that way! Already realised that Lidl, like all other supermarkets, have reduced size/weight/recipe of many products but being sold at same price level. Hope this doesn't go too far as I do want Lidl to maintain their quality of product rather than try and maintain their low price too much! I am sympathetic of course to those who won't have a similar view.
@harryflatters My son eats it all the time but i have told him that when i go to stay then i will not even look at it ha ha, i am a cooked meat girl myself ha ha, how can you eat RAW fish ? yuk yuk yuk ha ha haaaaaaaaaa, i just don't get it, please explain to me what it tastes like as i just don't get it lol
@harryflatters Hope Johnathan can fix it. Should be easy - lol - just need to get the right cables sorted. When I get stuff working properly I always colour code the leads to match their correct 'slots' - saves a lot of time and heartache if they ever become disconnected. I always do this even my laptop is colour coded - means I don't plug the TV in when I charge the batteries up.
Yes, we appear to have success! 'No signal' didn't actually mean what it says! All that had to be done was to select 'autotune' and it proceeded to find the signal!! So channels now loaded and we can watch TV independently of the Freeview box (useful if we are recording 2 or 3 programs at the same time on the box) or watch it via the box itself.
@harryflatters Back in the 90s, I asked the Royal Navy engineers what was the one thing that they really needed (needed not wanted). They went into a huddle and then said 'Please, when you state that there is a problem with component X, all we have to do is replace that component to make everything work'. The worst issue was that the error code suggested that you needed to replace one component. when that component was replaced a different error code appeared and another component needed replacing. This is a big issue in the middle of a battle!
All the components were actually OK, but the fault tree was poorly programmed. Apparently nothing has ben learned in 30 years!
All my son said to me is, the numbers are in the grid, you have find a combination that is in the grid - tally it & then somehow fill the other grids but you cannot use the same number twice in a grid. I just could not get my head around it, it just totally passed over my head and left me with glazed eyes minus a number of brain cells. @harryflatters
Haven't spent a lot of time on it but I'm with @duchess and @renatew5đșđ¶ !! How do you get the numbers to fill in the boxes? @Flossy đ§đ§đ§ Too much 'vin de Savoie' to bother now!! Happy memories of flying in the Southern French Alps - only after landing and in the evening obviously!!
@Flossy đ§đ§đ§ ah, I did wonder. I understand the principle of 'Sudoku' although it's not anything I've spent a lot of time doing. I am normally 'hot' with numbers but think you need practice to get good at it!!
My son John's favourite puzzle but I am like @duchess . I know to get the numbers into the grid but just not good with numbers. A cryptic cross would be easier for me than a number puzzle.
@Flossy đ§đ§đ§ excellent! Made me laugh! I've followed your advice regarding getting our television, Freeview 'box' and DVD player hooked up and working but so far to no avail!! All I get is 'no signal'!! Never seen so many leads etc!! Jonathan on his way over later so will get him to have another go at it!!

Do not like wasabi either. It is far too hot.

eeewwww.......
Too much raw fish!
...and now the bloke who invented it has died - was it something we did/said? đ„

Oh i dont do those, too hard lol
Have now put guide to playing Sudoku under the Daily puzzle. Hope it makes sense - not my instructions have taken them from official Sudoku website.
If you need further help - just ask!

I'm too thick - how do you type in it? @Flossy đ§đ§đ§
@Flossy đ§đ§đ§ Thanks. Completed. I enjoyed that.
