Hi Everyone,
Just came in to see that you are all well and managing in this heat. I am not coping well with it. Spending most days dozing in front of a fan. Suppose in the winter months I'll be spending my time dozing in front of a blazing fire!!
Have tried to paint garden fence - actually who has a fence anywhere but in the garden? Was only managing to do one plank of a panel in a day - much too hot and I keep dropping the brush. Have now bought a paint sprayer - delivered from Screwfix next day free delivery. It's still in the box - might open it in a moment. The weather has changed here - still too hot but high white cloud. Hope we don't get rain this morning - but we do need it as the ground is rock hard. Have managed to keep my few plants alive by recycling bathwater! They seem to love it! Even the grass/weed patch of a lawn seems to like it. Better than drought.
Went shopping to Aldi yesterday - spent a fortune - wow prices are really jumping up. While Rob was loading a trolley with our usual supply of cola I wandered about and found a solar powered blossom tree. Bought 2 - both pink! One tree spent all night flashing in the back garden - must open up the other one and put it at the other end of the garden or might see how they look side by side.
No more dramas to report - other than the fact that I am still waiting too have the back wall of the conservatory rendered. Promised for this week - but bet it rains!
Must make an effort to start moving about again - spending far too much time sleeping or just doing nothing. Guess I am lucky not to be worrying about gas/electric supply - mine is locked into a very cheap deal until September 2024.
Haven't had any 'free government money' yet. Has anyone had theirs? Shell - my gas/electric supplier tells me that I will get monthly rebate starting next month.
That's all for now. Time to unpack the paint sprayer before it rains.

It's cooler here now - even had a little rain but not enough to even dampen the rock hard ground. Weeds have revived a little !!
Lovely to read your news @Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ hope you have got your sprayer working! We had some rain yesterday - typical! I had just had my car detailed and it looked fabulous but by the time we got to Dover to visit a friend it didn't look quite so good!!
Nice to read from you Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ. You're right, prices have shot up. We shop in Lidl, and have seen prices go up on a regular basis. Hopefully all this price increase will stop! Wages aren't going up tho. We were lucky to pay off a little chunk of our mortgage recently, it made a small difference with the repayment, but it helps, as it's now under ยฃ400 a month for a 3 bedroom house! Till the next rate goes up, it seems to happen on a monthly basis tho. We received a letter from hmrc, they'll be checking if we're eligible for the ยฃ650 towards the cost of living paid over 2 month. We'll see, not that I'd be ungrateful, but it's still not enough as it will be a one off payment, what about the rest of the year? Everyone needs help. Anyway, we've been on holiday to a caravan site, but that's a little read in blog, I'm posting it right after this msg. We had some rain last couple of days, due to have some hot weather next few days, then who knows. Today we're having soffits or cladding whatever it's called, put on our little extention, it will be a grey colour, almost matching the garage door. I'd love to see your solar blossom tree.
Great to hear from you again @Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ It has been a milder here today but have had very heavy downpours. I'm surprised the garden isn't flooded down the end.
Dennis had to buy a new laptop today as his started playing up this week.
Take it steady, and take care.
Wow @Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ I thought we were over the heatwave. It's been cool here for the best part of a week, 16 degrees at present with enough rainfall to nearly refill our three water butts. All plants now refreshed but they did look a bit sad before the rain.
I hope you feel better soon, don't doo too much, a little at a time and you'll get there in the end. Good to hear from you.
