I have finally got control of my domain - the email section that is. I can send and receive my jarillion.com emails.
It started out at 10.38 this morning and finally ended at just before 5pm. It was a very long chat - went through 3 shifts - but I was determined not to go off line until it was sorted. Still need to set up a fresh website for Rob's CD, but it was easier in the long run to start a new site than to persevere in transferring the old one. It probably needed revamping anyway, That, I suppose, will be my next task.
Once the emails were back they came rushing in - maybe about 30-40 immediately and then they have been trickling in at about 10 an hour. I hate to think how many I have lost during the 10 or so days I was locked out. Those emails are lost forever. Just hope that anyone who needed to contact will try again, problem there is that they will have had a message that my email address was no longer in existence.
Never thought I'd want to go back to pen and paper and a good old fashioned diary.

In June this year I bought myself a really nice new kettle - a variable temperature one. I loved it and was using all the different temps for my tea, coffee, hot choc and really boiling hot water. Then last week when I switched it on it just wouldn't work - all the blue lights flashed at the same time. Couldn't get it working so had to send it back for replacement or refund. I desperately needed to get into my emails so I could see where I bought it from and print off a copy of the guarantee. Usually I keep a paper copy of all invoices and guarantees but didn't for this kettle. The only thing I could think of was to go through every company I had ever bought from. I actually had some good luck. I made an alphabetical list - Aldi, Asda, etc. I only had to contact the first two on the list - I had bought it from Asda - I was able to arrange for them to collect it and I will get a refund soon.

More good luck - Rob's new lease car arrived on Friday - well actually it was Tuesday but I couldn't get to pick it up until Friday. It's a Nissan Juke - like his old one but the latest model. It drives perfectly although the stop/start thing annoyed me at first, but I'm used to it now, Oh, should say that Rob doesn't drive but I do. The other thing that took a while to get used to is the handbrake - there isn't one! It's just a switch. One thing that I really hate is the parking sensors - seems that if I go within 2ft of anything it bleeps like mad. Best thing about it - it's red!

Hope everyone is well - especially @Happygirl .
Must get around to making my Christmas cake. The ingredients have been sitting in the kitchen for a couple of weeks now. This computer stuff has taken me over.
Well - keep warm if you can,
Flossy

Hello @Flossy ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฐ๐๐๐, glad you're getting your emails, finally! We have a kettle like that too, and love it! Not sure if the same but ours will keep the water hot for up to 4h. After 4h tho it's about 60 degrees. But good enough for herbal tea or towards cooking. Hubby's car has all sorts of beeps and bleeps, all to do with safety, and tbh he likes it, but has a "normal" handbrake. He doesn't like the idea of no handbrake. Ooohh can't wait to see your cakes.
