High excitement here! The dredger arrived this morning and is dredging the entrance channel to the Marina. - photos taken from our balcony by Jonathan on his iPhone.
It took us a long time to get here @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น but we feel so lucky to have now finally made it. Almost everything we need is within walking distance and there's a bus stop outside the door if we decide we want to go to Eastbourne town centre. Much better than driving and trying to find a parking space and of course free with our bus passes!!๐คฃ
Wow @harryflatters you certainly picked the best views. Lol nothing to do with this view but spell check changed 'view' with 'virgins' lol ๐ ๐ ๐
Hello @harryflatters , WONDERFUL pictures I looked up why they do this as i didn't know and here is the answer if anyone is interested
Dredging is the act of removing silt and other material from the bottom of bodies of water. As sand and silt washes downstream, sedimentation gradually fill channels and harbors. This material must be periodically removed by dredging.
Yes, it was working most of yesterday. It stayed overnight in the entrance to the harbour and has moved in a bit more now. It has also lifted all of the navigation buoys, presumable to clean them down and maybe repaint etc.. TV is indeed awful at the moment @renatew5๐บ๐ถ so you are probably right!
Oh yes, the free bus passes are very handy at times @harryflatters 1๐

You are so lucky @harryflatters I would love to have views like this.
Makes much more interesting viewing than the TV. Thanks for the photos. @harryflatters

I bet it was far more interesting than an old repeat on TV. @harryflatters
Great photos @harryflatters
Hi, has the dredger started yet? @harryflatters
In the last photo, the yacht just to the right of the bow (front!) of the dredger is just about to enter the lock to gain access to the Marina.
