Homeowner crafts six foot feline in hedge attracting dogs interest
cat owner has taking paying tribute to his pet to the next level with a giant topiary in its honour outside his home.
The two metre tabby cat has been expertly shaped into the existing foliage on a street in North Shields, North Tyneside, delighting passers-by and proving popular with dogs too.
The owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, regularly tends to the garden to ensure the hedge is kept in perfect shape.

I have a large hedge outside my front and it is very symmetrically squared and cut with not a blade/leaf out of its place but anything fancy would be a bit costly. With the 'Academy' just a stone throw away, anything artistic would be vandalised immediately and it's bad enough with all the cans and crisp wrapping just stuffed into my beautiful hedge. The artist of the beautiful reclining cat should make himself known, another kind of Banksy. @Happygirl
@Happygirl That's just brilliant!
Wow, now that requires a lot of work and creative skill. Thanks for the post @Happygirl
I think it's fantastic, why remain anonymous? It's a really cool idea.
I expect you have all seen this in the news, but if it brings a smile to some ones face on here today then it was well worth posting it
