I am just watching "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" on channel 5. This is my favourite ever film. Both of us are having a right laugh, I had forgotten how funny it is - it was made in 1954... gosh I was only 8 years old then. @Flossy ๐ง๐ง๐ง @Happygirl @harryflatters @margaret.s @nabob @Bill Obermeyer @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ @renatew5๐บ๐ถ @roz @tommiesgirl111 @Tanith @Shay M and anyone else interested.

How nice to still have Bambi @renatew5๐บ๐ถ what a lovely keepsake.
When I feel a little depressed I watch "The Best Marigold Hotel". (I have the DVD set) It is the story of a lot of pensioners going to India living out their days and getting away from patronising families. An odd choice perhaps but it brings back happy memories from our holidays in Goa, India.
It's the young hotel proprietor who wants to be all good things to all men and of course the lovely Maggy Smith with her special line, "I am that old, I won't even buy green bananas anymore." Her reason was the long waiting times for a hip replacement in England, no waiting in India if you can pay for it. It is a true and somehow uplifting film with lots of funny bits and also sad bits.
Difficult to pin it down to just one film! Gladiator would be one and The Godfather 'trilogy' of course! Sci Fi ones might be Alien or Predator. Many of Michael Caine's films I've loved especially, from his earlier days, Zulu and Zulu Dawn and more recently Harry Brown - a powerful film but a bit of a 'difficult' watch - possibly one of his best performances? Almost anything with Clint Eastwood! The list goes on!!
Gosh, I don't really have a fav film, but I do like watching Kevin and Perry go large @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น.
The Amazing Mr Blunden, FANTASTIC @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น
@Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น That would be Close Encounters of The Third Kind from 1978.
Used to watch it every Friday night after coming in from the pub....(I was either working or socializing in the pub)
Such a classic sci fi! @Happygirl @Pinkaholic79 ๐๐ฆ๐บ ?
I'm not sure I've ever seen it @Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น The first film I was ever taken to see at a Cinema in Cheltenham, where I was born, was Bambi - I had to be taken out because I got so upset and cried very loudly!
Oh and my son in law has got me hooked on It's A Wonderful Life the original version. ๐
A Christmas Carol (1951 version) with Alistair Sim. I love this film, found it quite scary when I was little but love it now. ๐
@Janet ๐๐ฐ๐๐น Demolition man, I find it rather amusing Sandra Bulloch had me in stitches, so bad it was good if you know what I mean, I don't think it's meant to be as hilarious as I find it, I think I must have a weird sense of humour.
