So Aldi have fired the first salvo.
In their e-mail; 'Our Super Six offer will have carrots, potatoes, brussels sprouts, parsnips, cabbage and swede for just 19p per pack, available in store from Thursday 16th December until Friday 24th December'.
Last year they started at 29p on the Thursday ..... and went to 14p. This followed announcements by Lidl, ASDA and Tesco. Sprouts ended up at 9p!
Rumour has it that Lidl's Christmas veg will be priced at 19p; Carrots 1kg / Oaklands British Mini Roasting Potatoes 1.5kg / Brussels Sprouts 500g / Parsnips 500g / Red Cabbage each /Shallots 300g.
However, this is just a rumour. AND it is Wednesday.
I wonder what will actually occur Thursday when Lidl and Aldi go live. Any prediction for an immediate reduction to 15p? And who will blink first?
