We've just bought this baby. It's sitting in the garage waiting for the midwife to come and confer life - hopefully not from Shrewsbury! These red ones are cheaper than domestic ones and sooooo much cooler - pun intended. I have a feeling I've already posted on this subject; nephrectomy and C-19 is my excuse. We are currently heating the South of England. The boiler man tested the temp. at the exhaust in the wall and it was 250c instead of 50c! Not being done until 11 April, so trying to be calm....

Ah, memories, there he stood on top of the memorial and looking out all across the Teutoburger Wald with shield and sword held high. All dressed like a Roman soldier but he was Germanic of a rather ruthless fighting Teutonic tribe and should have been dressed in a loincloth and deerskin. I leave him the sword and shield as spoils of war after he brought the Roman down in a flying tackle (local history as taught in school in the fifties) Our history teacher was good with a touch of the dramatic, it made learning easy). I saw "Herman" first on a school trip in 1958. We all went to see him and told stories about him and gazed over the beautiful landscape. I even told my boys this same story about "Herman the German" and John junior developed a liking for the History of everything of Ancient Rome and Germanic. @harryflatters @duchess. We lived in Detmold and Lage between 1970 and 1973.
