Couple of weeks ago, broke off a crowned canine tooth on a Lidl baguette! It also broke off bits of the root it had been anchored to. Our practice in the Harbour didn't have an appointment for a month. However, our wonderful dentist, Alex, does one day a week at a practice in town and fitted me in there more quickly. Rushing to park in the one available space on the road outside, I managed to 'kerb' my near side front alloy wheel!! So angry with myself!! Then, last week parked at Lidl Polegate, I returned to the car to find some one of questionable parentage and dubious driving skills had dented and scratched my near side rear quarter. Found a 'Chips Away' not far from the Mercedes Benz dealership here in Eastbourne and they are putting it all right next week. At least the tooth is still there, so far anyway! He said there wasn't much left to work with and didn't think it would last too long. I'm being careful and no more baguettes for me, sadly!! Expensive business, all in all!!

@harryflatters only just read about your dents and dentures. Hope the car is fixed now. I have a phobia about dentists - even feel ill walking past the door. My poor son had to go alone into the dentist while I sat outside in the car.
I took my nephew aged 10 to the dentist and managed to walk in with him and got him to sit in the chair. He soon relaxed as the dentist had a massive poster of his dad showing off his prize pike. I left rapidly. Seems that the dentist was a keen coarse fisherman and a fan of my brother and didn't know that he was living just a mile from his hero.
My brother turned out to be my hero too, as I had terrible toothache and had to visit the dentist. He took me in and stayed with me while I had a tooth extracted. Dentist said he could drill and fill but I was adamant that it came out. That way it was done with for good. I was so ill afterwards - actually being sick, headache and shaking he took me to his home and I went to bed and stayed for a couple of days until I felt well enough to drive home. Never going back.
Poor you, @harryflatters . Hope it all gets sorted. That reminds me, I emailed a firm yesterday as I have an idea about changing 2 garage doors to one, which means taking down the middle bit. I thought I'd invented it, but there are millions of sites on the subject. Your travails reminded me, as both of us [thank god, not just me] have bent my Yeti parking it through the very narrow door. Never had a problem in Chilmark, as I put carpet on the LH wall and backed up to it, but His Lordship has put bleekin. shelves on the LH wall, so you can't turn etc...... anyway, I quite fancy having some hunky builders around for a couple of days!
Did you get your cataract sorted?
Not much luch then @harryflatters! But at least everything can be sorted. Not that you want to spend the extra cash tho. Maybe next time a lightly baked baguette ๐. And you HAVE a dentist! We are still waiting for one for about 2 years, since our lady one left. Nothing had been sorted, I'm still looking, nobody is taking NHS patients. Not even a child, who's teeth are very important at this stage. All I keep doing is calling various ones in the hope they can at least fit Dinky in.
