A stolen dog has been reunited with her family - eight years after she was taken from the front garden.
Moving footage from Sussex Police captured the moment that Cassie saw her owners for the first time since 2013.
The cocker spaniel wasn't alone, and was accompanied by three puppies that are believed to be hers.
Cassie's family had been warned that she may be a different dog to the one they remember, but she is now thriving in her rightful home.
Her family said: "We are so thankful to have our Cassie back home - eight years since being separated from her. Cassie has settled in very well and is enjoying her daily dog walks.
"As for three puppies, they have all gone to good homes and are loving their new set family life."
With the help of the RSPCA, officers found Cassie safe and well following a series of raids in November - sparked by a tip-off from a member of the public.
Cassie's family described her return as a "priceless Christmas present" - adding that it gives hope to others who have had their dogs lost or stolen.
Families are encouraged to microchip their dogs and keep an up-to-date photo that can be shared if their furry friend goes missing.
The microchip company and the police should also be informed.

Sadly, the RSPCA lost their way a while ago, like many of these 'charitable' organisations. Like the National Trust and others, they became taken over, at board/committee/management level, by individuals with particular views, usually extremist and 'out there' and 'political' leanings and became politicised into simply pressure groups trying to further their own 'woke', 'green', politically correct agendas. Their proper and original purposes became totally lost in all this so it's no wonder they are all haemorrhaging members and support, leaving their everyday workers or volunteers aghast and completely frustrated and unhappy. We long ago resigned our memberships and support of a number of them including the two mentioned here.

Somehow I do not like the name of the person on your Facebook copy photo of the dog and text about the same. I don't think that the RSPCA will show a big interest and as long the poor dog has a fairly clean shelter with water and food, they do not really care. Two doors down to the right of me lives a large Asian family. When they moved in three years ago, they had a large Alsatian which I think they used for breading, judging by the visitors with their dogs. The dog was not allowed into the house and the only attention it got was when it was fed. Can you imaging the noise the dog was making day and night. Oh, yes as a dog owner you get to know the different barking and whining and crying when a dog is cold or wants some attention or is hungry or hurt. The RSPCA was duly informed and called and the owners were informed of what they have to do to keep the dog. The poor darling is still there but it is quieter now. It has now a closed in area, totally enclosed with an eight foot high fence with wiring around the parameter. It probably has a kennel type dog house in it, I can not tell because it is two doors down and all our back gardens have well-established greenery and high fences. Sometimes when I walk past and their side gate is open, the dog looks out of his own gate, rather sad looking. To certain people, dogs and cats are deemed as dirty and not to be kept in the home. There are other animal charities that would be more caring towards our four-legged darlings than the RSPCA, in my opinion. @Happygirl

Dog stranded in freezing West London canal rescued after being enticed with sandwiches
A dog who was found stranded in a freezing canal has been rescued by a charity team and now the search has started for her owner.
She was found stranded in the canal by Osterley Lock and members of The Canal and Rivers Trust were able to rescue the animal using sandwiches to entice her onto their boat.
Their heroic efforts on December 6 meant that her life was saved, but the hunt for the girl's owners has now been launched.
David Posnett, who witnessed the event, said: โWhile the Canal & River Trust team were at Osterley Lock, they spotted a dog in the water.
"They enticed her with their sandwiches and were able to drag her out.โ
The dog will be taken in by the council and passed on to a dog home if her owners arenโt found.
One well-wisher said on social media: โShe is a beautiful dog and so happy that she is safe.โ
Another said: โWell done, happy dog is safe and hopefully will be reunited.โ
Very upsetting knowing these things go on but glad it ended brilliantly by Cassie being reunited with the family. [@Happygirl]

Lovely story, and wonderful that Cassie recognised her family after so long, amazing how pets can remember their owners. Definitely a great Christmas present.

I hope these scum get the longest and most expensive punishment that one can possibly get for this sort of crime.
