Yesterday, an elderly lady (even older than me!!) asked me to get a cake mix she wanted off the top shelf. When I handed it to her she asked me how much it was. I had to tell her there was no price showing where it should have been. She said she would ask 'You have to keep them on their toes'!! Then, 'It's going downhill, you know - they've started bringing in this foreign muck'! (her words!!). I pointed out that Lidl fresh meat and vegetables was nearly all British and they also did a huge range of other British products - all supermarkets were having to 'adjust' to the changing circumstances and prices of raw material. I then asked her 'You do know it's a German supermarket don't you?'. She couldn't have looked more shocked, bless her!! Whether she is now lost to Lidl I don't know!!๐คฃ

Now you mention it. think you might have done @duchess - memory bit vague these days! An iconic vehicle for Skoda and sadly no longer made since around 2017. Hugely popular so not many come to market. As much as any do, your car should hold it's value reasonably well.
@harryflatters - did I say I dumped the Fiat 500 and found a 5 year-old Yeti - like hen's teeth, they are! It's my second and it's wonderful. Does everything you'd expect a Yeti to do, like climbing Everest and such like. My fave thing is the little parking ticket holder on the windscreen. Sad.....
Ha haaaaaaaaaa love it @harryflatters ,
Bless her @harryflatters, you did the right thing in pointing it out.
Oh bless her @harryflatters that reminds me of a few weeks ago when we were at the car showroom waiting to get our new car... There was another woman waiting there as well and over heard us chatting about Lidl. She said she didn't like shopping there due to it being German and having German foods! I did try to say that there were many British items on sale but she just wouldn't listen or take it in, so I just let her rant on and didn't bother anymore as she obviously had a thing about Germans for some reason. ๐ค
